Dual-Stage Continuous Dust Collection

Engineered for Milling: Makera’s dual dust collection system (cyclone separation + multi-stage filtration) captures debris during machining, eliminating cleanup pauses and allows you to run your CNC virtually debris free.

Industrial-grade Cyclone System

Makera pioneers a pro-grade cyclone system for desktop CNC – diverting 97% of large chips directly to the dust bin before reaching filters – extending filter lifespan 3X and enabling uninterrupted operation with zero clogs or frequent filter replacements.

Three-layer Filtration

Pre-filter sponge, 99.99% HEPA filter, and activated carbon—captures virtually all fine dust while neutralizing odors, ensuring you breathe easier and create in pristine air for healthier making.

Next-Level Quiet

At a max 70 dB – significantly quieter than any other external dust extractors – operate comfortably in homes, offices, or classrooms with zero ear fatigue or disruptions to others.

Smart Control Modes

App Control

The Makera Controller App gives you full control and peace of mind over your dust collection, allowing you to remotely fine-tune suction or toggle power via WiFi. *Note that the app can control the dust collector only when it is connected to the CNC machine.

G-code triggered automation

G-code automation triggers CNC-synced dust extraction start/stop, letting you walk away worry-free—banishing post-project dust avalanches and keeping your mind wholly in the creative zone.

FAQs

Does the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector support all Makera desktop CNC machines?

Yes, the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector is compatible with both the Carvera Air and Carvera. The dust hose outlet size matches the dust extraction ports reserved on these machines. Please note that the original Carvera does not have a reserved expansion port, so you will need to manually control the start/stop and airflow of the dust collector. We plan to release an upgrade kit in the future to enable automated control.

As a Makera Carvera user, do I need to purchase the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector?

Optional. The decision depends on your needs. The Carvera has a built-in dust collection system, but it’s lower power (20W) with relatively limited suction and airflow. If you require stronger suction and larger dust storage capacity, you may consider adding the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector as an external system.

Can the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector work with third-party CNC machines?

Yes, it can be used with other machines, though we don’t recommend it for large, high-power CNCs (spindle power over 500W). It’s ideally suited for small, desktop CNC machines. The Makera Cyclone’s hose interface is designed to match Makera machines, so you may need to machine or 3D print an adapter to connect it to your own CNC.

What are the advantages of using the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector compared to a regular household vacuum?

Unlike standard household vacuums, the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector operates more quietly and uses a high-pressure centrifugal fan, making it better suited for long, continuous operation. It employs cyclone separation + graded filtration, which is gentler on filters and reduces clogging, maintaining consistent suction. It can also link with the CNC machine for automatic start/stop and airflow adjustment, minimizing manual intervention.
While its 200W motor is smaller than that of household vacuums (typically over 1000W) and the absolute suction is lower, our testing shows that its airflow and suction are fully sufficient for desktop CNC machining.

What airflow setting should I use during CNC machining?

This depends on your material and cutting volume. Based on our tests:

  • For non-metallic materials like wood and plastics: 60–70% airflow is sufficient
  • For denser metals: 80–100% airflow is recommended

How often should I clean the filter and filter cartridge?

This depends on your machining frequency, duration, and the types of materials you process. In general, the lighter and finer the debris, the less effective cyclone separation becomes, making it more likely for dust to reach the filter and filter cartridge.
We recommend inspecting and cleaning the filter after approximately 30 hours of cumulative machining and dust collection to ensure optimal performance.

How often should I replace the filter and filter cartridge?

This depends on your machining frequency, duration, and the types of materials you process. We recommend replacing the filter cartridge after approximately 300 hours of cumulative machining and dust collection time.
However, the actual replacement frequency may vary depending on your usage conditions. If you notice clogging, reduced suction, or lingering odors, the filter should be replaced sooner.

Can the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector be used as a filter for laser engraving?

Yes, the Cyclone Dust Collector was also designed to be used as an air purifier when laser engraving with the Carvera or Carvera Air under most circumstances.

When will the dust collector ship?

Orders are estimated to ship within 1-2 weeks after final payment is received. All orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery times vary by region. Once your order is shipped, you’ll receive a tracking number via email.
